A safe space for women to relax, make friends and enjoy a craft activity, pamper and a wellbeing boost.

This is good for wellbeing because

  • It encourages relaxation: The Butterflies project provides a safe and comfortable space for women to unwind and relax. Engaging in craft activities can help reduce stress and anxiety, and promote feelings of calmness and relaxation. This can have a positive impact on mental health and wellbeing.
  • It fosters social connection: The project also offers an opportunity for women to make new friends and form supportive social connections. Social isolation and loneliness can have a detrimental effect on mental health, and so being part of a welcoming and inclusive community can help to combat these feelings.
  • It promotes creativity: Engaging in creative activities such as crafting can be a great way to boost wellbeing. It allows individuals to express themselves in a meaningful way and can promote feelings of accomplishment and self-worth. Engaging in regular creative activities has also been linked to improved cognitive function and increased happiness.

I can recommend the Hykeham group Butterflies. Nice to have a couple of hours with friendly people along with the opportunity to do a craft or have a treatment when available (today was hand or shoulder massage and nail painting). Never any pressure to join in … and who doesn’t like a slice of cake. All thanks to the volunteers.
