Howdy! I’m Becky, one of the Connectors in Gainsborough. I recently moved to Lincolnshire from the fast-paced West Midlands in search of a more peaceful, rural life—and so far, it’s been the best decision ever!
I’ve spent over 20 years working in social care, supporting both adults and children in areas such as substance misuse, mental health, education, and safeguarding. My passion has always been helping people navigate life’s challenges—whether that’s accessing support for housing, finances, domestic abuse, or mental health. This role allows me to focus on these key areas and help connect individuals and families with the services they need.
Since moving here, I’ve been getting to know the local community and discovering just how many fantastic groups and services are already in place. From walking with The Voluntary Service Team to spending time with the Men’s Shed on Burns Night, it’s been incredible to meet so many people committed to making Gainsborough a great place to live.
Outside of work, I’m embracing the Lincolnshire lifestyle—cycling through the countryside (though the narrow lanes still terrify me!), wild swimming, and making the most of the coast whenever my grandchildren visit. I’ve even joined the Brownies as a volunteer to meet new people!
It’s been a whirlwind nine months, but I’m already feeling more relaxed and settled. I’m looking forward to continuing this adventure, meeting more people, and strengthening the fantastic network of support in our communities. If you see me around, please say hello!
