Gainsborough Crisis Action Team

Back to Support
Last Updated: 06/02/2024

Gainsborough Crisis Action Team is a crisis prevention service.

We support, signpost and refer for a variety of situations including mental health difficulties, risk of homelessness, benefits audits, food parcels, fuel advice and vouchers, soup kitchen, social activities and overall wellbeing. We are also providing a warm space for winter 2023.

This is good for wellbeing because

  • Access to immediate support. People can self-refer and drop-in whenever they need support. There is no waiting list. We operate within a wide network of service providers, so can help people to access the support they need.

  • We provide opportunities for social inclusion during the drop-in, which is open from 10am – 4pm, 5 days per week. We have both formal and informal social sessions where people can meet new make and make friends.

  • We provide mental health and wellbeing support. We do this through direct support interventions but can also signpost / refer into other provisions including specialist Mental Health services, Wellbeing service Neighbourhood Team, housing providers, Social Prescribing and whatever people need to maintain their wellbeing.

Coming to the drop-in sessions at x-church has quite literally saved my life!
