Boston Choral Society has a mixed adult choir that started in the 1950's. We sing a variety of musical genres and perform several concerts each year. New members welcome.

We sing from 7.30pm to 9.30pm on a Thursday evening at Blenkin Memorial Hall. We welcome new members - Bass, Tenor, Alto or Soprano voices. The ability to read music is an advantage but some are able to pick up the music through repeated listening and singing at rehearsals.

We have an annual membership fee to cover room hire, music copy purchase and tuition.

This is good for wellbeing because

  • It is well known that singing is good for you - physically and mentally! ' Music feeds the soul'.
  • Learning and making music in a friendly environment is really good fun!
  • Where words fail - music speaks' - Hans Christian Andersen.

I've been in the choir for over 20 years and have made some good friends. During and after singing, I feel uplifted. Singing some favourite pieces gives me a real buzz!
