Last Updated: 15/07/2024

Community Learning in Partnership (CLIP) CIC – Memory Matters is a project that will deliver the following outcomes across its 2 key strands:

Virtual Dementia Tour (VDT) to provide insight to carers and healthcare professionals on what the
dementia sufferer experiences. The outcomes would be measured on numbers attending the VDT
(which we would ensure is fully subscribed to with 12 attendees for each of the 9 sessions planned).

Thereafter we will use a questionnaire based assessment on a 5 point scale across all participants pre and post VDT on measures such as improvement in their understanding of dementia, increased confidence in their ability to look after dementia sufferer, aware of activities that can improve the dementia sufferers wellbeing, confident of doing activities together, improved empathy towards dementia sufferer, able to implement measures to improve wellbeing of self, able to implement measures to improve wellbeing of dementia sufferer.

In addition, we will record the participant’s questions and answers provided at the Debrief session following the VDT, as this provides qualitative insight on value gained from the VDT experience. We will record the number of carers attending the session, and who would then go on to be engaged in the Dementia Café provision in each of the locations – viz Mablethorpe, Gainsborough and the current monthly provision already in operation in Market Rasen.

This is good for wellbeing because

  • For the dementia sufferer the key outcome is to provide stimulating activities which are appropriate and enjoyable, in a safe and non-judgemental environment which allows engagement and interaction with others.
  • The outcomes from the Dementia Cafés can be sub-divided into benefit to those living with dementia and benefit to those caring for the dementia sufferer.
  • For the carers, the outcome is that the Dementia café provides a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere
where they feel supported, bringing a sense of normality to their lives.
