Lace and Needle Craft Club - discover the joy of crafting in a friendly, creative space! Whether you're a beginner or experienced, join others to learn, share, and create beautiful lace and sewn items together.
This is a group of like minded people who enjoy making lace and sewing items. Anyone can join and bring their own projects and get support in what they want to make. You will get a warm welcome and a chance to make friends, and we'll even make you a cup of tea or coffee.
This is good for wellbeing because
- Lace making and sewing requires concentration and attention to detail, promoting mindfulness – being present in the moment and focusing on the task at hand. This can be a form of active meditation that helps alleviate symptoms of depression and anxiety.
- Completing a lace or sewing project, provides a sense of accomplishment and boosts self-esteem. Using or wearing something you've made yourself can be incredibly satisfying and good for your self-esteem.
- Lace making or sewing allows you to express your creativity through the choice of yarns, fabrics, colours, and designs, which can be incredibly fulfilling and can lead to improved mood and mental clarity.
