Alzheimer's Society Dementia Café Lincoln provides an opportunity to meet and talk about living with dementia in an informal social environment.

Dementia Cafes provide an opportunity to meet regularly and talk about living with dementia in an informal social environment.

They provide opportunities for people with dementia, family members and carers to ask questions of professionals and learn from the experiences of others.

A dementia café will provide information about dementia, local services and practical tips about living well with dementia.

This is good for wellbeing because

  • Alzheimer's Society Dementia Cafes offer a safe and supportive environment from which people with dementia and / or family carers can access relevant information, guidance and support to enable people to live as well as possible with dementia.
  • People with dementia, carers and/or family members feel that they receive emotional support from their peers and this is beneficial to them in living with dementia.
  • People with dementia, carers and/or family members feel that the service helps in reducing or preventing social isolation, particularly by reducing the stigma associated with dementia.

We meet and socialise, have activities, sometimes singing, puzzles, a cuppa and a biscuit or 3, with a safe space to get support from qualified staff. It is very welcoming and friendly.
