Active Together aims to support people living with Parkinson's by helping attendees complete exercises to improve their physical and mental wellbeing.

The sessions aim to help build participants' balance, strength and coordination.

These are group sessions where you can also connect with people with shared experiences.

After these sessions, there is the opportunity to stay for a drink and chat using social spaces at the LNER Stadium. Carers welcome to attend.

Led by exercise instructors who have completed the Parkinson's UK: physical activity and exercise training course.

This is good for wellbeing because

  • Being active with Parkinson's can help improve mental and physical wellbeing as well as balance, strength and coordination.
  • The benefits of physical activity while living with Parkinson's include: better muscle and bone strength, improved flexibility and joint mobility, improved balance and a reduced risk of falls, higher energy levels and better sleep, lower stress levels and lower blood pressure.
  • Sessions help people living with Parkinson’s to be active, feel energised and live well.
