Ageless & Agile

Back to Activities
Last Updated: 06/12/2023

The Ageless and Agile programme is currently delivered through weekly sessions delivered across East Lindsey in Louth, Skegness, Mablethorpe and Horncastle.

Each session runs for 1.5 to 2 hours and include various wellbeing, physical and social activities for all adults, especially those aged 50+. Sessions provide the opportunity to meet up and be supported in addressing lifestyle issues around topics such as food/nutrition, mental wellbeing, I.T, as well as providing different types of physical exercise.

The current Louth group also benefits from a ‘Sporting Memories’ session where reminiscence and nostalgia form part of the discussion alongside the wellbeing activities.

Qualified and knowledgeable staff provide nutritional support, advice, guidance, and signposting to other services both within Magna Vitae and the surrounding communities.

Station Sports Centre, Mablethorpe - Monday 10 am - 12 noon
The Embassy Theatre, Skegness - Tuesday 10 am - 12 noon
Meridian Leisure Centre, Louth - Thursday 1.30pm - 3pm
Horncastle Pool & Fitness Suite - Friday 10 am - 12 noon

Sessions are £2 per session, or free to those on the Exercise on Prescription programme or Magna Vitae members. We offer the first session for free!

This is good for wellbeing because

  • The sessions are fun and informative and always provide a mixture of physical activity and information on wellness and always start with a chat and a cuppa!
  • To provide alternative activities for those for whom the gym isn’t suitable or an attractive option, providing access to a variety of activities linked to physical activity and mental and physical wellbeing, and sometimes involves a trip out to try something new!
  • They provide nutritional support, advice, guidance, and signposting to other services provided by partners, including support and guidance around long term health conditions such as type 2 diabetes and mental ill health.

I am writing to say thank you. My mum, V, has been attending your Ageless & Agile group in Louth, for the past few months. This has been so good for her. She looks forward to coming each week and tells me all about what she’s been up to when she gets home every Thursday. I never thought you’d get her playing short tennis, indoor curling and trying out other physical activities. She is new to the area and this group has helped her feel part of a little community. I hope this group continues to flourish and give more positive opportunities to people like mum. I wish you well in all you’re doing.
