A peer-support mental health group in Lincoln providing tabletop games, board games, card games and gaming materials to facilitate socialisation, connecting people who are socially isolated through mental health issues, social anxiety or other socially limiting conditions.
This is good for wellbeing because
- Providing a curated, warm, welcoming and safe space for anyone to meet and socialise, focusing on overcoming barriers people face in these groups with members who have lived experience of mental health or other issues.
- This group allows people to meet over a fun, entertaining and enjoyable experience together providing ready topics for conversation without the need for small-talk, allowing for connections and friendships to occur naturally.
- Increasing social inclusion for everyone, supporting marginalised groups and building confidence in social settings helps members improve outcomes alongside other therapies.
- Increasing social networks reduce depression, reduce stigma surrounding mental health issues and encourage help-seeking behaviour.
I'm so glad to have been introduced to All Access Games.
It's all-inclusive, and they are welcoming with no pressure. I've had a lot of fun with a variety of board games and tabletop roleplay, and now count the group as some of my best friends.
