Our choir is for anyone who loves singing. Research says singing in groups has physical and emotional benefits. We believe everyone has a right to sing whatever their voice!
We sing for pleasure, with no pressure to improve, & we aim for everyone to leave a singing session feeling valued & uplifted.
This is good for wellbeing because
- People love to sing; we love to sing, and we would love for you to join us! Singing makes you feel good, whether or not you can carry a tune! It’s proven to be good for your physical health and has social and emotional benefits. We stop halfway through the session for a tea / coffee break and a chance to chat.
- We provide a warm, welcoming, safe place that won’t make you feel anxious about singing or meeting new people. We are friendly group of people who sing for fun and are always ready to welcome new members. There is no better time to join than now! There is no commitment to come every week, but we like it if you do! You can drop in and out as suits you and your lifestyle.
- Belting out a good tune with other people is uplifting and almost guaranteed to make you feel good, and that feeling stays with you long after the session has finished! Singing with other people at Bourne Tuneless Choir, quickly becomes singing with friends, and increasing confidence, positivity and health benefits build naturally over time and transfer to other aspects of daily life.
- During the year we hold social events and receive invitations to sing for other people, good causes, fund raising events, charity events and care homes and you will be able to take part in these if you wish. It's a fun thing to do and so rewarding and worthwhile and a great confidence booster.
Thank you for another uplifting tuneless with such a happy line-up of songs. It has felt a tough week with all that is happening around so tuneless time is so very very valuable. Thank you both.
I’m so glad I came on Thursday. I nearly didn’t. We had had a horrible few days. I was tired and so much going round in my head. But as always, I felt so much better after singing tunelessly with friends.
