Chalk and Talk is a relaxed, social snooker club for men, offering friendly games, good company, and support. It’s a great way to unwind, connect, and enjoy time together in a welcoming environment.

Join a welcoming snooker group of up to 12 men, supported by trained volunteers and professionals. Whether you're struggling with your mental health or simply need a quiet place to unwind, you're free to chat, play, learn, or just sit in peace—no pressure, no judgement.

This isn’t a counselling session—it’s a space to connect, relax, and enjoy the mental focus and challenge that snooker offers.

Playing snooker regularly can help improve the following skills:

  • Concentration: Snooker requires intense focus and attention to detail, helping players develop and maintain strong concentration skills.

  • Memory: Remembering previous shots, opponent tendencies, and game situations can help players develop stronger memory skills.
  • Hand-eye coordination: The precise aiming and cue control necessary in snooker can improve hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
  • Snooker can also positively impact mental health. Engaging in the sport can help reduce stress and anxiety, as it encourages relaxation and provides a mental escape from daily pressures. Moreover, snooker fosters social interaction and camaraderie, promoting a sense of belonging and emotional well-being.
  • While snooker is primarily a mental game, it's essential not to overlook the mind-body connection. Regular physical activity is known to benefit cognitive function and overall brain health. Although snooker may not be as physically demanding as some other sports, it still provides a moderate level of physical activity that contributes to a healthier lifestyle.
