Kids Sensory Play at Morton Village Hall offers fun, hands-on activities that engage children’s senses—touch, sight, sound, smell, and taste—plus movement and balance—to support learning, creativity, and wellbeing.

We offer open-ended, hands-on activities that spark curiosity and creativity by engaging all five senses—sight, sound, touch, smell, and taste—plus movement and balance. These activities can be adapted for different ages and developmental stages, helping children learn through exploration and interaction with the world around them. This is good for wellbeing because

  • Supports brain growth: Sensory play helps build and strengthen brain connections, making it easier for children to tackle more complex learning.
  • Boosts language skills: As children explore, they learn new words like soft, wet, and loud—helping them describe what they see, feel, and hear.
  • Builds motor skills: Activities like squeezing playdough or scooping sand help strengthen small hand muscles and improve coordination.
  • Supports emotional wellbeing: The calming, repetitive nature of sensory play can help children feel more relaxed and manage emotions like anxiety or frustration.
  • Encourages creativity and problem-solving: Sensory play lets children explore, experiment, and think for themselves as they discover how things work.
