Movement to Music for Parkinson's

Last Updated: 09/02/2024

We are thrilled to announce that we have received funding from Parkinson's UK to set up and run a 'Movement to Music for Parkinson's' physical activity session in South Holland!

Our session is designed specifically for individuals with Parkinson's disease and aims to offer an enjoyable and motivating way to engage in physical activity.

We understand that individuals with Parkinson's often experience movement difficulties such as stiffness, tremors, and coordination issues, so we will be using a variety of physical activities, including dance, yoga, drumming, and boxing, all sequenced to music to enhance motivation and create a unique and enjoyable experience.

The 1.5-hour session will not only provide ample time for movement but also allow participants to socialise and connect with others facing similar challenges. We believe that social interaction and support are essential for individuals living with Parkinson's, and we intend to create a session that caters to the specific needs and challenges of our participants, allowing them to interact, share experiences, and build a supportive community.

Join us for this exciting new opportunity to get moving to the beat!

This is good for wellbeing because

  • The sessions aim to make exercise fun and exciting, improving your physical health and lifting spirits.
  • The sessions aim to provide a supportive community for those living with PD within South Holland.
  • They aim to be accessible to all, boosting confidence in participants abilities.

The session was fun and enjoyable - I'll see you next week
