NeuroGreen is an inclusive outdoor activity programme designed for individuals with physical and learning disabilities, including autistic participants.

The project uses nature based, craft, and sensory activities to promote wellbeing, social connection, creativity, and confidence in a safe, supportive garden environment.

📍 Location: Hillside Garden
🗓 Start date: Tuesday 5th May 2026
⏰ Sessions will be weekly at 10am–1pm

Sessions will follow a consistent and predictable structure to help participants feel comfortable and supported. Activities may include seasonal gardening, sensory exploration, creative crafts using natural materials, and gentle movement exercises.

All sessions are facilitated by a dedicated staff member, with accessibility and individual sensory needs at the centre of the programme.

Learning has been taken from our previous projects, Neurothrive & Layers of Green, to build the foundation of this new project.

We have an open referral process and are welcoming interest from individuals, carers, services, and referrers. Participants will be supported through a gentle onboarding process so we can understand their needs, interests, and goals for attending.

This is good for wellbeing because

  • Being in nature can reduce stress, calm the mind, and boost mood. Fresh air and natural surroundings also help people feel more relaxed and focused.
  • Creative activities help people express emotions, build confidence, and develop creativity.
  • Physical movement improves fitness, boosts mood, and helps the body stay healthy.

From attending NeuroGreen, I have been able to socialise and have inclusive feelings in participating in today's creative activities
