Phoenix Harmonies are a community choir who meet weekly during school term time to enjoy singing a variety of different styles of music together. There is no audition needed to join and new members are welcome to a free trial week.
We have funding that would allow us to subsidise or cover the cost of the sessions for someone joining who need this financial support.
This is good for wellbeing because
- Singing with others improves breathing techniques and can have a calming effect. It allows people to pay attention to what they are doing in the moment.
- It gives opportunity for people to connect with each other in a social setting.
- People can learn and develop singing skills in an non-threatening environment.
