Seedlings is a baby and toddler group for 0-3s that runs weekly on a Tuesday morning from 9.15am to 11.15am at St George's Church Place in Stamford.

Rebranded and reformed during lockdown, it offers a place for parents and carers to come with their under threes to enjoy a safe space to offload, share experiences, meet with others to support raising children in these difficult times.

All the volunteers that support this are trained mental health champions and can offer support and signposting to other organisations. Seedlings works in conjunction with the Fresh Hope Ministry at St George's which has accessing to support for Debt management, housing, SHEP furniture project and other social outreach programmes.

£2 per session

This is good for wellbeing because

  • Seedlings offers a safe space to meet other parents/carers and share experiences.
  • Seedlings volunteers are trained to listen and support, signposting where necessary.
  • Seedlings toys are for developing full motor skills/ sensory and imaginative play to help young children and babies in reaching developmental milestones.

I had a baby girl during lockdown and my partner worked away. My parents live in Wales so weren’t allowed to visit. I believe the ladies at Seedlings saved my life. I was so low and so lonely, but they offered tea and toast and a friendship like no other. They never once made me feel like a nuisance or silly. They were all so lovely I will be forever grateful for the kindness shown to me and my baby during that time. I have since gone back to work and miss them all so very much but know that if I have another baby, it will be the first place I go.
