Spalding Writer's Society is a writing group for anyone who enjoys putting pen to paper! It is a welcoming space for writers of all kinds to explore free writing, sprints, prompts, and workshops that spark creativity and support your craft.

Spalding Writer’s Society – Creative Writing for All

Join us every Monday from 5–7pm at Tonic Health, 6 Broadgate House, Westlode Street, Spalding, PE11 2AF. No booking needed—just turn up!

Whether you're a poet, playwright, author, scriptwriter, or hobbyist, this welcoming group offers a supportive space to write, share ideas, and grow your craft.

Each week features structured free writing, group-generated prompts, and writing sprints (25 minutes writing, 5-minute break). Activities are posted in advance on our Facebook page.

Just bring something to write with—pen and paper, laptop, or phone—and get inspired!

This is good for wellbeing because

  • Encourages a regular writing habit and completion of projects
  • A place to connect with and meet other writers in the area
  • A quiet, regular space to write away from distraction

I didn't expect to be able to come up with anything, but when the timer started and I put pen to paper they started flowing.
