We offer a variety of groups and services for local individuals and families. Most of our groups are small, friendly and informal – you can attend weekly or occasionally, as you wish.
With the same volunteers leading these groups, we offer a friendly face, consistency, and an opportunity to develop friendships and to access support.
Mon & Wed 10 – 11.30am its “Come & Play Toddler Groups”
Tues 10 til 11.30am its “Baby Group”
Thurs 10 til 11.30am “Coffee n Chat” a group for everyone to meet, drink coffee, stay warm and socialise.
Once a month we run our “Intergenerational Club” offering friendship and activity -games, cards, dominoes, and crafts as well as a cuppa.
This is good for wellbeing because
- By getting out and coming to our groups, you will meet new people and begin to form new relationships.
- Groups are run by the same core volunteers, who have knowledge of mental health and well-being. This consistency and knowing who to expect to be there builds a sense of confidence and takes away the unknown. Hopefully you will soon feel welcome and part of the group.
- By coming to our groups, you may learn new skills, but will also find encouragement and support. Someone to listen and if they can't help directly will signpost you to further support.
In the early stages of motherhood your groups were a lifesaver - I don't know how I would have coped if I'd been at home all day with the baby... getting out, meeting others and sharing parenting really helped me as a mum and made day-to-day life better.
