Tai Chi on Eastgate Green for adults provides a gentle and inclusive opportunity to improve balance, flexibility, and relaxation through slow, flowing movements.

Suitable for all abilities, sessions focus on controlled breathing, posture, and mindful movement, supporting both physical health and mental wellbeing in a calm outdoor setting.

What will I learn?

Tai Chi is a time-tested art which gently exercises the body, energy flow and mind. These sessions take place outside the Hub in the beautiful riverside setting of Eastgate Green.

Do I need to bring anything with me? (include clothing)

Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in e.g. leggings/shorts and a tshirt and trainers. Bring a bottle of water, this can be refilled at the Hub.

Is it suitable for beginners?

Yes. All abilities are welcome, the class will cater for individual needs of participants.

About the Facilitator

Dean Martin

Dean has been practising tai chi for over twenty years. He was introduced to it whilst teaching martial arts for over forty years and has focused on it for the benefits it brings for wellbeing.

Access Information

The group meets outside on Eastgate Green, next to the entrance to the Hub. Although the building is closed to the public at the time of the class, you are able to access the building to use the facilities if needed. A member of the Hub team will be around to assist you and introduce you to the group and instructor. In bad weather the class will move inside to the studio.

In the event of rain or snow, an alternative indoor location will be used.
