Walking and Talking in Nature

The Walking and Talking in Nature Group connects people to create meaningful friendships with each other, facilitated by one of our qualified Counsellors, Andrew Cox.

This is a dedicated walk, led by Andrew, who is also a herbalist, therefore you can learn about the plants and nature in the area too. The walk takes place every Tuesday at Hartsholme Park between 10:30am and 12:30pm, meeting outside the Visitor's Centre. Andrew can be identified as the one with the binoculars around his neck! This is a leisurely walk around the park, whereby participants can have a general chat, reflect on their mental wellbeing and experience mindfulness techniques, with the opportunity to meet others, and speak to Andrew as a therapist.

This is good for wellbeing because

  • There is a strong link between getting outside, in nature, and mental wellbeing.
  • This group is informal, free, and non-committal, whilst also having a positive effect on mental health.
  • This is a great opportunity to meet like minded others, speak to a therapist, and learn and practice mindfulness.
