We run groups, activities and training in our community space Monday to Friday every week. We are volunteer-run, supported by our coordinator. We offer a home-from-home environment; warm, cosy and friendly.
Anybody is welcome to attend.
Mondays we have a coffee morning 10am-12pm and a job club 1pm-3pm. Free internet access and hot drinks.
Tuesday we have Upbeat music on every Tuesday. 11 am - 12pm. Knit & Natter group 1 pm-3 pm. Both free.
Wednesday is lunch club (bookable) 12 pm or 1.30 pm. Roast dinner, pudding and a hot drink for £6.
Thursday We have seated exercise fitness and friendship on from 11.45-12.30. Our Art & craft group is 1 pm-3 pm - bring your own project and meet new people.
Friday Ad Hoc sessions such as training or our Kids Eat and play sessions during school holidays. Contact us for further details.
You can come in at any of these time for help, support and signposting, the kettle is always on.
We also have a charity shop in the building next door, and a school uniform bank offering free uniform.
This is good for wellbeing because
- Getting out of the house and meeting new people is great for wellbeing.
- Learning new skills is good for mental health and wellbeing.
- Access to the internet is free here, and we can help you to access support online.
Coming to Winnies has changed my life. I was so lonely and isolated, now I have a new group of friends and I volunteer to run the charity shop that we opened in April four days a week. I feel so much happier and have a purpose in life.
