Spilsby Town Council’s Recognition Awards 2026 were announced on Sunday, 31 May, celebrating individuals and organisations whose dedication has made a positive difference to the local community.
Among the evening’s notable winners was David Bruce, Lead Community Connector for Skegness, Spilsby and District, who received the prestigious Mayor’s Award. The award recognises his commitment to supporting residents and strengthening community connections across the area. Through his work, David has helped countless people access services, support networks and opportunities that improve their mental health, wellbeing and quality of life.
The Impact on Wellness/Mental Health Award was presented to the Spilsby Wellbeing Hub at the New Life Centre. This marks the second consecutive year that the organisation has been recognised for its contribution to promoting mental health and wellbeing within the community.
Accepting the award, the team at the New Life Centre said: “It was a great privilege to accept this award for the second year running. It is something we at the New Life Centre feel very strongly and passionately about and that everyone in life should have easy access to help if they need it.
“We always welcome everyone, whether it’s just for a cup of tea and a chat or access to many of our resources. We thank the people of Spilsby for continually recognising the work we give to our community.”
The awards highlight the vital role played by local volunteers, organisations and community leaders in making Spilsby a supportive and caring place to live. This year’s winners demonstrate the spirit of community service and the positive impact that dedicated individuals and groups can have on the lives of others.
