Blossom (learning English)

Back to Support
Last Updated: 15/07/2024

We welcome all refugees, migrant workers and asylum seekers who wish to improve their English. If you feel lonely, isolated or homesick, Blossom is a group that will bring friendships and fun whilst you improve your English.

You can also learn new crafts such as sewing, jewellery making, knitting and even decoupage. Children under five very welcome to attend with their parents; we have toys and books to occupy their time, too!

Wednesdays, 10am-12 pm, during term time.

This is good for wellbeing because

  • You will be around like-minded people who understand the intense loneliness and isolation a displaced person feels.
  • You will improve your English conversation in a friendly and relaxed and safe space.
  • You will create and learn during the crafting part of the session; learning new skills with mini-projects like sewing, knitting and beading.

I have learnt more English, and the people who work at the church are so kind. They welcomed me and my husband. We laugh and we cry together.
