Safe Places – Drop in, community café where there are group activities and an opportunity for people to get together and socialise over a tea or coffee. Supporting community metal health and wellbeing.

This is good for wellbeing because

  • We provide a safe space for people to be able to come along and talk about their mental health and wellbeing.
  • We provide a space where people are listened to and not judged - encouraging people to not feel alone and helping to reduce stigma.
  • We encourage people to meet new people, develop peer support and also explore other groups/services within the local community.

I was meeting new people, people who were there to listen and didn’t judge me. Rather than shutting myself away in bed, I started to come out and attended BEAM every week
