Provides entertainment, refreshments, information and friendship, in a safe and secure environment, for those living with dementia and their carers. Trips are also provided, such as visits to wildlife parks and lunches at various locations.
Buddies Dementia Cafe meets on the first and third Thursday of each month between 10.00am and 12.00 noon.
Each session is just £1 per person.
This is good for wellbeing because
- provides stimulating activities to both those living with dementia and their carers.
- Helps to alleviate loneliness. Elderly people are very often isolated and carers have very few places to take their loved ones. We provide a friendly and welcoming place.
- provides support and advice to the carers and enables them to meet like minded people and helps them to understand they are not alone in their experiences.
My mum had yet another wonderful time at Buddies. We both can't thank you enough....I can't tell you how lovely it is to see my mum looking so happy with her lovely smile, singing along to the music. A massive thank you to everyone at Buddies for all that you do.
