Improving mental and physical health through contact with animals and nature.

Fairfield Community Farm provides a welcoming, therapeutic environment where people of all backgrounds can connect with nature, ponies, farm animals, and farming activities to improve their wellbeing.

The farm offers a range of activities and services designed to support physical health, mental wellbeing, education, and community engagement.

There is a cost but some resources/activities are free.

This is good for wellbeing because

  • There is a huge amount of evidence that shows that stroking animals, being outdoors and being physically active is good for mental health!
  • The farm animals and ponies are extremely friendly and enjoy interacting with people.
  • Watching the animals play, brushing the goats and scratching the pigs' bellies is guaranteed to make you smile!
  • Taking part in one of the activity sessions, support groups or coming to volunteer at the farm is a fabulous way of making new friends and learning new skills, giving a huge boost to your confidence and wellbeing!
Fab little place!! We loved our kids farm club this morning. Great opportunity for the kids to interact closely with the animals, and do some jobs around the farm. All the staff were patient, knowledgeable and clearly passionate about what they do. First time I’ve given a pig belly rubs and brushed a goats chin! Will be recommending to friends!
We had such a lovely morning. Emily and Arthur absolutely loved getting their hands dirty with cleaning, feeding, brushing and even cuddling the animals. Can’t wait to come back.
