A monthly online group for kinship carers to meet others, discuss areas of concern they're experiencing as a kinship family and support others in similar positions. Takes place every second Friday of the month. Project being run by Kinship.
This is good for wellbeing because
- This is a space for Kinship carers who are undervalued by the local authorities and can often feel isolated and misunderstood in the community.
- A space for carers to discuss experiences and suggest advice options for fellow carers.
- Covers an area that is limited in support for kinship carers. This group is for anyone to attend if they live in Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire and Rutland.
I'm thankful that after 15 years, finally Kinship are out there in a professional capacity and in my area.
Being a kinship carer is hard but you lot in this group will keep me strong, this is the medicine I need.
