Moving Forward

Back to Support
Last Updated: 19/07/2024

Moving Forward is a free support group for women who have experienced past domestic abuse relationships.

We meet at a safe, city centre location in Lincoln on the first Tuesday of the month from 10am-12pm throughout the year, as well as an evening session on the third Thursday of the month 6.30-8.30pm. We also meet through Zoom once a month in the evening which means you can attend wherever you live!

This is good for wellbeing because

  • We understand through first-hand experience that the trauma and impact of domestic abuse can stay with you for years even though you are no longer in the relationship and are in a safe place now. We are here for you.
  • Connecting with people who have had similar experiences to you can create beautiful supportive moments and truly validates what you're going through. We know you are not to blame for what happened to you.
  • You will make the most amazing friends. Lots of people who come to Moving Forward are creating friendships and support networks and even meet outside of the group!

You are all super special people and making a huge difference. Thank you, I’m so grateful you put MF together and I came. I have honestly gone from not seeing a way out and existing to feeling hopeful and positive and seeing my gorgeous boy bloom, I’ll never be able to thank you all enough for that xx
