The Safe Places groups offer support to people who may be experiencing anxiety and depression, are lonely and isolated or bereaved, and would like to meet other people who have a shared, lived experience, in a safe, non-judgemental space.

The aim of the meeting group is to provide people with a distraction from life, give them a safe space to chat and laugh together and to inject some positivity into their lives in the hope that they leave feeling better than when they first arrived.

The group meets every Wednesday 12.30pm to 2.30pm and Thursdays 1pm to 3pm.

This is good for wellbeing because

  • The groups give people a safe places to come together and socialise over a cuppa.
  • The groups provide a place you can relax and be yourself.
  • You can come along and enjoy a quiz or game of bingo and make connections with new people.

Safe Places ‘does what it says on the tin’. It offers people with mental health problems a safe place to go where they will not be judged. The groups are a lifeline for people like myself who often feel lonely and isolated. We are a vital support for one another.
