Safe Places Meeting Group

Back to Support
Last Updated: 15/07/2024

The Safe Places groups offer support to people who may be experiencing anxiety and depression, are lonely and isolated or bereaved, and would like to meet other people who have a shared, lived experience, in a safe, non-judgemental space.

The aim of the meeting group is to provide people with a distraction from life, give them a safe space to chat and laugh together and to inject some positivity into their lives in the hope that they leave feeling better than when they first arrived.

The group meets on the first Tuesday of every month 2.00pm - 4.00pm

This is good for wellbeing because

  • The groups give people a safe places to come together and socialise over a cuppa.
  • The groups provide a place you can relax and be yourself.
  • You can come along and enjoy a quiz or game of bingo and make connections with new people.

Safe Places helped literally save my life during my recovery following a debilitating breakdown, and even now helps me keep a healthy balance in my life. The groups have helped me begin to socialise and love life again and, in turn, I met some amazing, supportive people who I now consider family. The variety of experiences, activities, and the opportunity to also facilitate my own Therapeutic Art Groups, have also helped me to help support others (as well as help maintain my own sense of well-being, confidence, nurturing creativity, etc.).
