Last Updated: 15/07/2024

The Ecowellness Project is a user-centred suite of healthy, engaging, relaxed activities at the Eco Centre to impact positively on users' overall wellbeing.

Sessions happen seven days a week at times to suit user needs. It will appeal to all, irrespective of age, ability or background.

Seagull Recycling Ltd exists to offer a wide range of personal development and user-centred support services to our local community. We actively target the most hard-to-reach, isolated and disadvantaged groups in society irrespective of age, background or ability. Our mission statement says “empower people to achieve their potential by undertaking environmental activities” and this is achieved through a user-centred approach to everything we do based in the forest and indoor facilities at the Eco Centre.

Our activities reduce isolation, increase skills, offer personal development opportunities, improve physical and psychological health and well-being and break down barriers to participation/involvement in wider community activities at the Eco Centre in Skegness, or in community settings where appropriate.

Activities vary from woodland wellness, mindfulness, small animal sessions, forest walks, hammock sessions, digital detox, horticulture, yoga, tai-chi, eco-crafts, self-help & peer support groups, forest art, woodland bathing, natter & chatter.

This is good for wellbeing because

  • It helps to improve physical and psychological health
  • It helps to improve self-belief and confidence
  • It encourages people to build skills
