The open space is welcome to anyone within the community and we strive to create a welcoming and safe environment for all.

This is good for wellbeing because

  • Bert House brings the community together to tackle isolation, create friendships and connect people into the right group to support them.
  • Throughout the colder months, a warm space is provided to help people to alleviate stresses of increased financial burdens during winter by providing hot food and drinks that also continues throughout the rest of the year.
  • Offering a wrap around support to cover diverse needs, using a range of different person-centred groups to encourage wellbeing self-progression along the participants journey.

A great opportunity to open up, off load, share support and be supported' about the 'GROW YOUR OWN WELLNESS' cohorts.

Bert House is well placed and supportive, Ben, Dan and Amber offer an excellent service about the community hub.

Just wanted to provide some feedback about my experience of accessing Shine as a mental health practitioner working for the local community mental health team.

Shine in Horncastle have provided me with a warm and friendly space in which I can meet patients and support them to access community support and reduce social isolation. This is a very important part of supporting my patient’s mental wellbeing.

It reduces the need to use more ‘clinical’ environments that can be off putting for people. The environment at Shine in Horncastle is a welcoming and the staff are professional and friendly. I have also been able to access things like new slow cookers, bedding and warm packs for my patients which has been very useful to my patients.

Shine is a valuable community resource.
