Stamford Autistic is a free group for 18+ that is held on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month from 10:00 am till 12:00 noon at Stamford Day Centre.

We have specialist disability coaches from the DWP attending the sessions to help with employment.

We also discuss aspect of autism and share thoughts on the subject within the group. It is for anyone who is autistic diagnosed or not.

I encourage all to bring an activity with them that they want to do in the group to help overcome barriers in communication in an unfamiliar environment.

We work hard to make the environment as autism friendly as possible.

This is good for wellbeing because

  • The group is a safe place to meet because it has been set away from the main building with access to an outdoor space
  • Group leaders are knowledgeable and experienced with Autistic people
