Stamford Wellbeing Hub - MindSpace

Back to Support
Last Updated: 15/07/2024

MindSpace is a Stamford-based charity whose aim is to promote positive wellbeing for everyone. We offer activities free of charge, on a donate-if-you-can basis, so that there is no cost barrier to making wellbeing a way of life for everyone.

We offer both support sessions in the form of a daytime Tea & Chat, evening Night Light Cafes where you can talk to our trained volunteer listeners if you feel that you need to offload some of your worries.  We also run more specific group sessions, such as a New Parents Support Group for new mums and dads who feel like they are struggling, and our PeriMenoPlus+, aimed at providing information and group support to menopausal and peri-menopausal women.   We also offer a broad range of activities based on supporting your physical and mental wellbeing, such as boxing, basketball, running, mindfulness and creative journalling, to name but a few.

We also have a wonderful outdoor space known as the Wellbeing Garden, which is a beautiful and peaceful environment to learn all about gardening, outdoor crafts or take part in one of our groups.

More details and our full timetable is available on our website www.mindspacestamford.com. All of our activities are free to join - we just ask that you donate when and if you can afford to, to help keep our service free for everyone.

You can be sure of a warm welcome at MindSpace, whatever group or activity you choose to join. If you are worried though and need more information before you can pluck up the courage to come along, do contact us! We are here to help at [email protected] or call us on 07563 385273.

This is good for wellbeing because

  • By coming along to join a group or activity, you are already investing in your wellbeing.  You'll be connecting with others, learning, being active or engaging in a mindful activity, all of which are ways to help improve our mental and emotional health.
  • Taking part in relaxing, fun, and/or energising activities is a great boost for mood and wellbeing.
  • You can use the connections you make with others and the new hobbies you discover as a springboard to wider social circles beyond MindSpace.

It's difficult to say how much MindSpace has meant to me over the past year. I’m not sure I would have gotten through it without the support and friends I’ve made at tea and chat.

I am less lonely and don't feel isolated, and feel a greater sense of belonging since I've been coming to MindSpace.

The Garden has given me somewhere to go… I come down here and enjoy the space on the weekend too. I enjoy planting and growing in my patch and I’ve made new friends down there, and have someone to talk to when things are hard. The Garden has opened up a whole new life for me – I thought I would be sat at home on my own forever.
