The Community Table CIC

The Community Table CIC is a dignity-first social supermarket in Mablethorpe, providing affordable food and essential household and family care items to local people experiencing financial pressure or food insecurity.

The dedicated, retail-style social supermarket offers a welcoming and dignified alternative to a traditional food bank, giving members choice and control over the food and essential items they need while helping households save money on everyday essentials.

The Community Table CIC also helps reduce food waste by making high-quality surplus food available to the local community at affordable prices. Members pay just £5 a year to access the social supermarket, where food and household items are purchased using a simple points-based shopping system. Each product has a points value, allowing members to choose the items that are most useful for themselves and their families. A minimum spend of £5 (10 points) is encouraged, with additional shopping available at 50p per point.

By providing affordable food, household essentials and access to quality surplus food, The Community Table CIC supports local people affected by food insecurity and the cost of living, while reducing food waste and helping to build a stronger, more resilient community in Mablethorpe and the surrounding area.
