The Hairy Violets

Back to Support
Last Updated: 15/07/2024

Like the Hairy Violet, we’re here to help people challenge expectations whilst learning to thrive in unexpected places. This will involve guided creative writing sessions for 18-24-year olds for self-esteem, self-awareness, growth and resilience.

These sessions will run alongside one-to-one mentoring sessions with The Network to support with aspirations and remove barriers. All participants will start with a one-to-one session with The Network to make sure our project is a good fit for you!

This is good for wellbeing because

  • We'll be using creative writing and guided activities to build up resilience, wellbeing and healthy coping strategies that can be used throughout life.
  • You will get one-to-one mentoring from The Network, who are experienced in providing person-centred support to help 18-24 year olds get to the career goals they want, ranging from volunteering to employment.
  • You will get a chance to review the practical and emotional barriers you're facing, and receive support from The Network in terms of helping you to start removing these barriers.

I felt welcomed, and listened too when I spoke about what affects me. The Network helped grow my confidence and the workshops helped me prepare for the workplace.
