The Restore Centre at The Storehouse

Last Updated: 15/07/2024

The Restore Centre is a safe place for homeless people to access hot food, to get a shower and access laundry facilities. Clothing, sleeping bags/duvets and pillows can also be available.

We also run a wellbeing group twice a week in our warm space providing a location for homeless people to socialise, play games and have a chat over a hot drink and snack whilst drop-ins are also available with organisations to help improve their situation.

This is good for wellbeing because

  • We believe when people have had a hot meal, had a hot shower and got into some clean clothes, they always feel much better. Our project aims to enable clients to develop their own self care routine by providing these facilities. This in turn enables clients to focus their efforts on other things as they work towards improving their situation.
  • The Wellbeing group helps to reduce isolation within the homeless community. It creates a safe space for friendships to grow and where peer-to-peer support is encouraged, not only for people to receive support, but for people to have a sense of own self value whilst giving support to others.
  • The Restore Centre can assist clients to getting the help they need. Drop-ins are available within the centre helping with a range of issues. Organisations like the local councils rough sleeping team, salvation army, community connector and utility companies are all lined up to do various drop-ins. Help directing clients for food parcels from the Skegness Food Bank is also available.
