Walking With The Wounded's Employment Programme helps to secure positive employment outcomes for unemployed veterans.

Walking with the Wounded (WWTW) Employment Advisors work within communities or are embedded within NHS regional veteran mental health teams, helping unemployed veterans to find employment and rebuild their lives.

Advisors build confidence, organise work placements, source funding for any required training and ultimately assist in securing sustainable employment.

WWTW has adopted the Individual Placement & Support (IPS) model to assist UK veterans who are unemployed and are also struggling with their mental health.

Our Employment Programme has been independently reviewed and shown to be three times more effective than our nearest comparator, with every £1 spent by WWTW achieving £3 in social benefit.

This is good for wellbeing because

  • Can help find a new focus
  • Can help learn new skills and improve confidence
  • Can help create a routine and meet new people socially
